3-PART RADICAL VULNERABILITY POETRY WORKSHOP
Example Experience
1) Who I Am: The first workshop centers on self-discovery. Participants identify and examine the actual and ideal characteristics they bring into the spaces they enter — academically, professionally, and personally. Through guided poetry prompts and discussion, participants deepen their understanding of authenticity, agency, and self-presentation.
2) Where I’m From: The second workshop explores origin stories—both literal and imagined. Participants reflect on early life experiences, family narratives, and cultural contexts to uncover the power of knowing (and reimagining) one’s roots. Poetry and storytelling become vehicles for reclaiming voice and honoring lineage.
3) For My People: The third workshop focuses on collective identity and the concept of “squad care,” or communal well-being. Participants examine how care, solidarity, and creative collaboration can transform communities. Through shared writing and performance, they consider how individual healing contributes to collective liberation.
